Athlete.ai ("we", "us", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Account data: Email address, display name, profile photo (if provided), gender, birth year, and fitness preferences (goals, experience level, equipment) when you create an account or complete the onboarding survey.
Workout data: Exercises, sets, reps, weights, RPE, set types, workout duration, supersets, and related training information you enter in the app.
Body measurements: Weight, waist, chest, hips, and bicep measurements you optionally log.
Nutrition data: Meal photos you take within the app and nutritional information (calories, protein, carbs, fats) generated from AI-powered food recognition. Photos are sent to third-party APIs for processing and are not stored on our servers after analysis.
Health data (Apple HealthKit): With your explicit permission, we read steps, heart rate, resting heart rate, sleep duration, SpO2 (blood oxygen), and calories burned from Apple HealthKit. This data is used solely on-device and within the app to personalize your AI training recommendations. We do not store, upload, sell, or share HealthKit data with any third party, including advertisers. HealthKit data never leaves your device except as part of an AI prompt sent to OpenAI for program generation.
Camera data: The Form Coach feature uses your device camera for real-time pose estimation via on-device ML Kit processing. Video frames are analyzed locally in real time and are never recorded, stored, uploaded, or transmitted to any server.
Weekly plans: Your weekly workout schedules and AI-generated training programs stored in our cloud database.
Usage data: App visit timestamps for streak and habit tracking features.
We use the following third-party services, each operating under its own privacy policy:
We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore) with access restricted by Firebase Security Rules to your authenticated user account. We use Firebase Authentication with industry-standard providers (Google, Apple, email/password) for secure login. All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Exercise videos are served via Cloudflare R2 with signed URLs that expire after 15 minutes.
While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request complete account and data deletion at any time by emailing support@athlete-ai.app with the subject line "Delete Account". Upon request, all your personal data — including workout history, body measurements, meal logs, weekly plans, and profile information — will be permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems within 30 days.
Cached exercise videos on your device can be cleared through your device's storage settings at any time.

Athlete.ai is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@athlete-ai.app.
Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own (including the United States) through our use of Google Firebase, OpenAI, and other third-party services. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g., via in-app notice or email).
